Papal Mass Lottery Form
Pope Benedict XVI will be visiting Washington and celebrate a Mass at Nationals Park on April 17. For parishoners interested in obtaining a non-transferable ticket for the Mass we will be conducting a lottery. To participate in the lottery, please read the following information, complete a lottery form, and submit it by the deadline.
What if I win?
Names drawn in this lottery will be submitted to the Archdiocese and to event security. A ticket will be issued that may be used only by you. On April 17, you will need to bring the ticket and a photo ID to the new Nationals Park. Because of traffic and parking restrictions, plan to take Metro to the stadium (Green Line/Navy Yard station). You will need to clear security and be in your seat by 7:30 am. The Papal Mass is scheduled to begin at 10:00 am.
How do I enter the lottery?
- To allow broad participation, two members of any family registered in the parish may submit their names on a lottery form. Names submitted more than once or families with more than two names submitted will not be entered in the drawing.
- One or two names may be entered on each form. For each name submitted, please include the corresponding phone number, address and age.
- Deadline: Forms must be submitted to the parish office by 2 pm on Friday, March 28 (mail-in entries must also be received by 2 pm on Friday, March 28), or turned in following Mass on Saturday and Sunday, March 29 and 30. E-mails and faxes will not be accepted.
- The lottery will be held Tuesday, April 1, and the results will be available in the church (on the bulletin board) after 2 p.m. on Thursday, April 3.
